About ME

For the last several years, I've dedicated myself to empowering non-profit organizations with strategic marketing and digital expertise.  Before that, my 20+ year career spanned diverse industries (Tech, Retail, Food & Bev) equipping me with a unique ability to translate successful business strategies to the non-profit world. 


I have a degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and an MBA from INSEAD.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

  • As Founder and CEO, I started and grew a tea business, The Chai Co, organically with a hybrid business model, built a recognizable brand from the ground up, and acquired some marquee customers.  Due to the strength of the brand and customer list, I successfully led the company to acquisition and sold the business to a competitor in 2018. I led a team of 10 employees and managed all aspects of the business and this role honed my skills in strategic planning, business process engineering, and people management.
  • In my role as Director of Marketing & Communications at Friends of the Urban Forest, I successfully led a partial rebranding process that modernized the brand and broadened the organization's appeal to connect with a wider, multi-generational audience. This involved developing a comprehensive messaging framework, launching a new website, and creating new workflows that streamlined interactions between internal and external stakeholders.This resulted in not only a surge in website traffic by 40%, it also decreased in complaints from the public by 80%. 
  • I provided consulting services to non-profits and startups, where I developed marketing strategies and managed digital ad campaigns with remarkable success. For instance, I orchestrated a $500K digital ad campaign for They See Blue, generating over 7 million impressions in just six weeks and significantly boosting voter engagement.
  •  At IBM, I conducted market research, defined user segments, and launched a DB2 on Campus program for college students, which led to a 150% increase in awareness and adoption of IBM software by students in five key countries over two years.
